About me

I am female.  I spend my time in London and in a village in the middle of the wild mountains of northernmost Provence. Thanks to the internet I can work in both.I spent many childhood summers in rural France in a cavernous kitchen learning how to cook things that you now rarely see, which are the product of thought, knowing the land and seasons and economy.  I am saddened that food in England is often the prerogative of celebrities and fashion, and France follows close behind in this: but I celebrate those who are working towards honest sustainability in our food, in farms, markets, pubs and restaurants.

I will not list  my likes as they often strike me as vanity,  and anyway, who is interested? But I would refer you to a wonderful blog on gardening written by a very dear friend.  It contains no vanity but much wisdom on plants and Bob Dylan:
